I was waiting for my wife to go to the gym last night, so I picked up the guitar. I played Fur Elise, Beethoven's through once pretty fluidly. On the opposite page a new one I started working on Fantasie Impromptu by Frederic Chopin. I only got to a few of the measures before my wife was ready to go. (Got to love women they let you do whatever while you wait.)
We got back from the gym and I went right at Chopin's piece again for at least 1/2 hour more. Then went on to practice the 3 pieces I have already been practicing on a couple times through, each.
Still have not pushed myself to remember them by heart, but I really need to. And I have the urge to take out the Finder or Gibson to play some Blues riffs, but seems to little time.
9/25/08 Last night practiced(45 min) through Mendelssohn and both of Beethoven's music pieces 2 times at least. Then started working on Chopin's music, but got flustered on some of my fingering. I need to start on the newest pieces to the oldest.
The only chance of me pulling out the Gibson, was the Mad Max movie with Mr. Gibson in it. (LOL, switch I did) Tonight I have a good feeling, before and after going to the gym with the blood pumping no problem.
9/26/08 Last night practiced on my fingering of Chopin's, Fantasie Impromptu. I made the change in guitars thinking it would sound better with the steel string acoustic guitar. The thought is still out on that, but another thought entered my head as to video my fingering. This would give me the a better veiw of what I am doing wrong. Anyway that is all I did on the earlier session. After the gym I opened up the case of the Les Paul and sat there for about an hour. Something about getting a little drum beat (Boss,Micro BR) behind you and your like in a time machine, makes sense, I want to say perfect sense, but if you listened to me...(LOL) I need to practice my different rhythm patterns. I need more time in everthing!!!
10/1/08 Last night practiced 3 of the 4 classical pieces last night. Tuned up the Silver Tone nylon string, but did not put the capo on. The shoulder is feeling it a bit this morning and my fingering was off. Focused on Fredric Chopin's, Fantasie Impromtu once I figured the capo off the guitar made a difference in my finger positioning. Plan on practicing tonight, but keeping the TV off!!
